Big Data and Hadoop Course Schedule
Objective:
This course will introduce the candidate to Hadoop, its file system (HDFS), its processing engine (MapReduce), and its many libraries and programming tools for processing of big data. The candidate will learn to set up a development environment, run MapReduce jobs, build workflows, and much more. The candidate will understand the sources and structures of big data,Hadoop's core components such as HDFS and MapReduce, understand Hive Pigs and HBase etc.
Course Outline :-
- Introduction to the Course - why big data, Inception and evolution of Hadoop, Map reduce.
- Architecture of hadoop Clusters. Installing VM.
- Set up a single Node Hadoop pseudo cluster. Discussion on Hadoop Clusters and Nodes. NameNode, Secondary Name Node, Data Nodes.
- Mapreduce with Hive and Pig.
- Running Multi node clusters on Amazons EMR.
- Hadoop on Cloudera, Web Administration.
- Hadoop on Hortonworks Sandbox.
- Introduction to Sqoop.
- Advanced hadoop development with Apache Bigtop.
- Detail MapReduce Concepts - Jobs definition, Job configuration, submission, execution and monitoring.
- Hadoop Data Types, Paths, FileSystem, Splitters, Readers and Writers. Understanding Spark for fast cluster computing.
- The Hadoop Ecosystem - introduction to Crunch, Avro.
- Mahout Cluster computing using Sparc on HDFS, Cassandra, HBase.
Duration and Timings:
Approximately 8-9 weeks (10 hours per week/3 days per week). Timings are flexible as per coordination between students and faculty and will be scheduled on an ongoing basis. We prepared this course schedule and content to address market demand to ensure a successful job placement. Any suggestions from student community will be considered. Final content and schedule timings are subjected to vary.
Post Training:
- Students will have gained sufficient knowledge on big data and storage mechanism.
